Head Office – 30 January 2025
As part of its ongoing commitment to improve service delivery and make its services more accessible, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will begin the nationwide deployment of Franchise Officers across all district operational areas from February 2026.
The Franchise Officers will work directly with customers in their communities. Their duties include reading postpaid meters, checking prepaid meters, distributing and printing postpaid bills on the spot, and assisting customers to pay their bills using the ECG Power App or by dialing *226#. For security reasons, cash payments will not be accepted.
In addition, the officers will help enforce payment compliance by disconnecting accounts that are in arrears and reporting any electricity-related illegal activities for the necessary action.
To ensure transparency and customer safety, all Franchise Officers will be clearly identifiable. They will carry official ECG identification cards and signed authorization letters from their respective district offices.
This initiative is part of ECG’s broader effort to enhance efficiency and deliver reliable, convenient services directly to customers at their doorsteps.
