The commitment to keeping customers connected was demonstrated on Friday, August 28, 2026, when fault teams from the Danyame and Kokoben Districts worked late into the night to restore power to customers following faults on two different feeders.

The two faults, both involving jumper cuts, occurred within minutes of each other. The first was recorded at about 8:45 p.m. on the Kokoben feeder at Ebenezer Junction, while the second occurred at 8:47 p.m. on the Bekwame feeder at Trede.

The faults affected customers in Kokoben, Brofoyedru, Nkoransa, Trede, Pakyi, Kotwi, Adumasa, Bekwame, Kyekyewere, Pakyi No. 1 and 2, Sabin Akrofrom and Ampabame.

Upon receiving information about the faults, the respective fault teams immediately liaised with Control Operations to ensure that the necessary safety procedures were followed before proceeding to the affected locations.

What followed was a night of determination and teamwork.

Despite the wet and windy weather conditions and poor visibility, the fault teams remained committed to restoring power to the affected customers. Working under challenging conditions, the teams repaired the broken jumpers and carried out other necessary maintenance activities.

By 11:47 p.m., power had been restored to the affected customers.

The prompt response helped minimise outage downtime, reduced the inconvenience to customers and saved the Company from potential revenue losses associated with prolonged unserved energy.

For Ing. George Amoah, General Manager, Ashanti West Region, the decision by the two teams to continue working despite the difficult conditions was a reflection of the importance ECG places on its customers.

He explained that waiting until weather conditions improved and visibility became clearer would have prolonged the outage into the following day and caused further inconvenience to customers.

“In Ashanti West Region, delighting the customer is our hallmark, hence going the extra mile is not just a mantra or slogan but a promise to our customers,” Ing. Amoah said.

He noted that the actions of the two fault teams were also consistent with ECG’s core values of Excellence and Reliability.

According to him, excellence means continuously seeking to improve skills, processes and outcomes to exceed expectations and deliver results, while reliability requires the Company to build trust through dependable and consistent performance.

The efforts of the Danyame and Kokoben teams provided a practical demonstration of these values as they remained at work late into the night to ensure that customers were not left without power longer than necessary.

For residents who benefited from the quick restoration, the effort did not go unnoticed.

Mrs. Ernestina Aidoo, a resident of Brofoyedru, expressed her appreciation to the ECG team for their dedication and commitment to restoring power promptly.

Ing. Amoah has meanwhile urged customers experiencing faults within their individual premises to avoid engaging the services of private electricians and instead report such faults to ECG.

Customers can contact the ECG Contact Centre on 0302 611 611, visit the nearest ECG office, lodge a complaint through the ECG Power App, or reach the Company through its social media platforms on Facebook, X and Instagram via @ECGghOfficial.

The overnight efforts of the Danyame and Kokoben fault teams are a testament to ECG’s commitment to providing reliable service to its customers.

For these teams, going the extra mile meant working through the night, in difficult weather conditions, to ensure that customers could have their power restored as quickly as possible.
